Jersey only has one emergency department

People are being asked to only use the hospital's emergency department if they are "experiencing a genuine medical emergency".

Jersey's Health and Community Services (HCS) said on X anyone who "feels unwell" or is experiencing symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea should not visit any HCS sites.

It said care, support and advice could be given through pharmacies, surgeries and out of hours general practitioner services.

Numbers for out of hours doctors are available on the Government of Jersey website.
