East Sussex neighbours share £1m lottery win
People's Postcode LotteryA mum-of-two and a recently-engaged couple are among eleven neighbours planning how to spend a windfall after they shared a £1m lottery win.
Ten of the residents of the village of Catsfield, East Sussex, received £83,333 in the People's Postcode Lottery. Another person with two tickets won £166,666 of the Millionaire Street prize.
Mark Holman, 38, and his fiancé Laura Lansdale, got engaged at Christmas and are putting some of the money towards their wedding in May.
Holman told Danny Pike on BBC Radio Sussex: "It means we can actually have a honeymoon, which we weren't actually planning."
Lansdale, 34, added: "We were expecting £1,000 and anything over that was going to be a bonus. This is mad."
Steph Godfrey, 38, got involved in the monthly lottery after reading about a winner in the nearby town of Bexhill-On-Sea.
The nursery teacher, who only recently moved into the road, plans to spend her winnings on a travel adventure with her 12-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter.
People's Postcode LotteryShe said she was "desperate" for a foreign holiday as she had never taken the children abroad.
"It will be amazing to take them on a plane," Godfrey said.
"My daughter wants to go to Disney, and my son would love China."
Janet Fowle, 73, had just finished singing at her church choir practice when she received a call giving her the good news.
Her husband, John Fowle, said: "She's the spender and I'm the saver.
"I might update the car, but I view this as something to have in the bank and a bit of a cushion."
People's postcode lotteryPeople's Postcode Lottery, which is regulated by the gambling commission, costs £12.25-a-month to play. People enter their chosen postcode with a chance to win a cash prize.
