Driver seriously injured in two-car crash

A driver has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Whetstone.

Leicestershire Police said it happened on the A426 Lutterworth Road, near to the junction with Dog and Gun Lane, at 06:30 GMT on Wednesday.

The crash involved a black Audi Q8 estate and a white Vauxhall Corsa, the force added.

The driver of one of the vehicles was taken to hospital where they are receiving treatment for their injuries.

The road remains closed between the Wychwood Road roundabout and Hill Lane while investigations continue.

Anyone who saw the crash, or who has dashcam footage, is urged to contact the police.
