Man and dog rescued from tyre workshop fire
George King/BBCA man and dog were rescued after a fire at a tyre workshop in the early hours of the morning.
Fire crews were called at 00:49 GMT to a commercial premises on Egremont Street in Glemsford near Sudbury, Suffolk.
The fire service said flames were visible from a mile-and-a-half away and the presence of low level asbestos was also reported.
The service said the fire was brought under control at 02:57 and an investigation would follow.
On arrival crews found the workshop fully alight and there were fears the blaze would spread to neighbouring timber-framed buildings.
Initially crews from Long Melford, Clare and Bury St Edmunds attended, with three appliances.
At 01:18, two additional fire engines were requested from Sudbury Fire Station.
Once the fire had been extinguished crews checked to see if it had spread, but no further fires were reported.
