Roads closed due to burst water pipes
SuppliedTwo burst water pipes led to road closures and flooding in Leicestershire.
Station Road, Leicester Lane and Leicester Road near Earl Shilton were closed to allow engineers from Severn Trent Water to carry out repairs.
The burst pipes caused residents to lose access to water in nearby villages including Desford, Barlestone and Barwell.
The firm said supplies had been restored to nearly all homes in the area though a small number might experience temporary low pressure or discoloured water.
An additional 25 customer are still without in water in Desford which Severn Trent said will not return until the pipes are repaired.
A Severn Trent spokesperson said: "Our teams worked fast to restore supplies and are now fixing the burst pipes.
"We'd like to thank people for their understanding whilst we return water supplies and area back to normal."
