Ozzfest return announced with dates at Villa Park

The return of Ozzfest has been announced by Sharon Osbourne.

Ozzfest was a long-running heavy metal and hard rock festival founded by Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne in 1996. Bands including Black Sabbath, Slipknot, Slayer, Pantera and Machine Head have all featured over the years.

Speaking to her son Jack on the Osbournes' podcast, Sharon said two dates have been planned for Villa Park Stadium in 2027. It is the same venue where Black Sabbath's Back To The Beginning concert took place last year.

She said: "Ozzfest is coming back, now you have to plan these things two years up front, so we're looking at 2027, Aston Villa."

"We want to do two days at Aston Villa and then come to America. We want to hear from everyone where we should go in America."

"And who you want to see on it," Jack added.

Discussing plans with son Jack she said she was "keeping busy otherwise I'd go mad".

Sharon said: "The time to just sit and do nothing has gone and I'm better keeping busy."

The pair had been talking about Back To The Beginning, the biggest heavy metal gig in history, held at Villa Park Stadium in July 2025.

Black Sabbath went out with a bang at their final gig last year, in front of 40,000 fans and supported by an all-star line-up of rock legends who have all been influenced by the founding fathers of heavy metal.

Jack asked what she was doing to stay creative and Sharon said she was "chipping away" at projects behind the scenes.

Sharon said: "We've got to find a lot of new young talent, because that's what your dad would want."

Ozzfest has not been held since New Year's Eve 2018 where it was held in California.

The news follows a big week of celebrations honouring Ozzy's life and legacy. He was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BRIT Awards on Saturday.

Speaking on the red carpet at the awards, she said her husband, who was born and raised in the Aston area of the city, had never forgotten his hometown.

"Ozzy loved being a Brummie, he was very proud of where he came from and never ever forgot. He always used to say, northern people are the most loyal people in the world, and it's true," she said.
