Teenager charged over Bonfire Night disorder

A teenager has been charged in connection with offences including mobbing and rioting in relation to disorder in Edinburgh in Bonfire Night.

The 17-year-old was arrested following a police investigation into incidents on Calder Road on 5 November.

A total of 14 people have been arrested over offences related to Bonfire Night and Halloween in the city.

The teenager was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Councillors say quieter displays would have less of an impact on vulnerable people and pets.

A report to the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority also highlights a fall in incidents around 5 November.
