The A46 in Leicester has been closed in both directions following a crash.

Leicestershire Police said the road had been shut between Beaumont Leys and the A6 following a "serious collision".

National Highways said the crash involved two lorries and a car, but no further information has been shared.

On social media, the force wrote: "Please find an alternative route or follow instructions if already in the queue of traffic."
