Two men have been charged after a firearm was discharged in Barnsley.

Police were called to reports of a building on Cemetery Road being damaged at 21:35 GMT on 21 January and officers determined it was caused by a firearm.

South Yorkshire Police said Daniel Galfsky, 35, of Silkstone View, had been charged with possession of a shotgun with intent to cause fear of violence and criminal damage. Jamie Galfsky, 36, of Oak Close, is charged with possession of a shotgun with intent to cause fear of violence.

Both men were remanded in custody to appear at Barnsley Magistrates' Court earlier.

A 39-year old man, arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms offences, a 28-year-old woman and a man, 58, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have all been released on police bail.
