Three people escape injury in two separate arson attacks
BBCThe Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) are investigating two separate arson attacks on properties in counties Antrim and Down.
At around 01:50 GMT on Saturday, the PSNI said they received a report of a fire at a property in the Saul Street area of Downpatrick, County Down.
Police also said they received a report at around 03:05 that two suspected petrol bombs had been thrown at a ground-floor flat in the Drumtara area of Ballymena, County.
Two people escaped safely and no injuries were reported in Downpatrick and in Ballymena one person was not injured.
Both incidents are being treated as arson with intent to endanger life.
The PSNI said it was a "shock" for the victims and there was "significant damage" caused to each of the properties.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service also attended both scenes.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses.
