Town extends 20mph speed limit to more roads
BBCMore 20mph speed limits have been added to a town following a public consultation.
The restrictions are in place on eleven roads in Marlborough, including George Lane and Cardigan Road, after Wiltshire Council approved the plans.
Jane Davies, a councillor for Marlborough West, said the changes would highlight "the risks on the road" and were not "about bashing drivers".
She said she had experienced drivers "zooming" down streets such as George Lane, which was used by children on their way to school.
Davies added: "George Lane sits between the main primary school, the secondary school in Marlborough and the centre of town.
"Inevitably, you get hundreds of children crossing that road every day to get to and from school," she said.
Wiltshire Council approved the plans last year, but the new speed restrictions could not be enforced until the 20mph signs were installed.

Driver Nick Turley said he had "mixed feelings" about the new 20mph zones.
He added: "I think it's a good idea but it can also be really frustrating if there's nothing about and you're in a 20mph zone and it's clear and you can drive quite safely at 30."

Local resident Elizabeth Heron-Watson said she was a fan of the new 20mph roads.
"I don't go much faster than that anyway, I'm 86," she said. "So many people speed around here, vans and a lot of cars. They don't even thank or acknowledge you when you pull in for them."
Fellow driver Darren Moore said people should take "time to slow down" in residential areas and follow the new speed limits.
The 20mph proposals were supported by Wiltshire Council, Marlborough Town Council and the town's Area Board.
