Trains delayed after East Midlands line closes

Rail passengers are continuing to face delays between Leicester and Nottingham after the line was closed due to an emergency.

East Midlands Railway (EMR) said the track was closed shortly before 05:00 GMT on Thursday due to an incident between Loughborough and Leicester.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the line was reopened shortly before 07:30 GMT.

EMR said services between the two cities, including trains from Nottingham and London, continued to experience delays due to the incident.
