A double-decker school bus that got stuck on a narrow bend while transporting children to school has been removed.

The Eurocoaches service, which was taking pupils to Winterbourne Academy, blocked Cleeve Wood Road in Downend, Bristol at about 08:20 GMT causing traffic delays between Amberley Road and Woodside Road.

Avon Fire and Rescue said crews from Temple and Kingswood attended the scene where a bus carrying school children "got stuck on an embankment". It said children were "escorted away safely" without any injuries.

Cleeve Wood Road reopened at 11:00 GMT, police confirmed. Eurocoaches declined to comment.
