Man in court charged with murder in Alloa

A 26-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murdering a man in Alloa.

William Devaney, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident in Gartmorn Road, Sauchie, at around 00:25 on Thursday.

Ronan Kane, of no fixed abode, appeared in private at Alloa Sheriff Court charged with murder and was remanded in custody.

He made no plea and case was continued for further examination.

Mr Devaney's family said previously in a statement that he was "a really nice person, so joyful, full of life and full of banter."

They added: "Everybody loved him and he loved everybody.

"He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends and was loved by all."
