Arrest footage of man who severed partner's spine
This is the moment Robert Easom was arrested by police after he severed his partner's spinal cord in a brutal attack that left her paralysed and needing constant care.
Easom did not speak as he stood in the hallway barefooted and in a dressing gown.
Lancashire Police said he had subjected the victim to a "relentless eight-year campaign of coercive and controlling behaviour" which culminated in the attack when she said she was leaving him.
Easom, 57, of Chipping, near Preston, was jailed for 16 years after being convicted of wounding with intent following a trial at Preston Crown Court.
