Man, 23, stabbed to death in New Year's Eve attack
BBCA murder investigation has begun after a 23-year-old man was stabbed on a south-east London street on New Year's Eve.
Police were called to Grove Street, Deptford, at about 12:30 GMT where the man was found with a knife wound to the chest.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics but he died shortly afterwards, the Met Police said.
No arrests have been made and a crime scene was put in place.
Det Ch Insp Sam Townsend said the force's "thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the victim's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
"Our investigation is progressing swiftly as we work to establish the full circumstances surrounding this tragic incident."
He said extra police patrols would be in the area to reassure the public, and the investigation "remains our highest priority".
