Young people are being urged to stay away from empty buildings in Guernsey.

Guernsey Police said officers had received a number of calls about gatherings in abandoned premises over recent weeks.

The force said there were dangers in visiting disused buildings, putting young people and emergency service workers at risk.

Officers urged young people to think twice before entering empty properties, while parents were asked to be aware of where their children could be going.

Police said the risks of abandoned buildings included questionable structural integrity, black mould and entry and exit hazards.
