A gas leak was reported after the crash

A van crashed into five properties, causing significant damage to two.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision at about 23:30 GMT on Wednesday in Kessingland High Street, Lowestoft.

A man was arrested in connection with the incident, Suffolk Police said.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue attended due to a gas leak and electrical issues. Cadent said it was carrying out emergency gas repair works in the area, according to its website.
