A man has been arrested after a moped rider died in a crash with a car in Derbyshire.

Police were called to the A623 in Tideswell, close to the junction with Whitecross Road, just before 23:00 GMT on Saturday.

The rider of the moped, who was in his teens, was pronounced dead at the scene, the force said.

The driver of a Range Rover, a man in his 70s, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been released on bail as inquiries continue.
