A car which has not been driven for 30 years has been sold at auction for more than twice its higher estimated price.

The 1994-registration Range Rover was up for sale at an auction in King's Lynn, Norfolk.

The black vehicle, which had been stored in a garage and hardly been driven, was sold to an anonymous UK-based collector for about £120,000, including the seller's premium, having been given an estimate of between £30,000 and £50,000.

Valuer Freddie Knight said the sale highlighted the demand for modern classic vehicles.

The Range Rover would have sold in the 1990s for £36,000

Knight, of Anglia Car Auctions, said the black car ticked all the boxes for collectors.

"Outside Range Rover's heritage collection, this will pretty much be the only one on the open market with this kind of mileage and one owner... it's that unicorn thing."
