Man, 20, dies in traffic collision near Dervock

A 20-year-old man has died after an early morning traffic collision near Dervock, County Antrim.

It happened on the Castlecat Road just before 01:00 BST on Sunday.

Det Insp Stewart from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's (PSNI) collision investigation unit said: "Police received a report of a collision involving a grey BMW.

"Officers attended alongside emergency partners, and the male driver, who was from the Crossgar area, was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries, where he sadly passed away."

The road was closed overnight but has since reopened.

Meanwhile, two motorcyclists, aged in their 30s, are in a critical but stable condition in hospital after they were involved in a one-vehicle collision in Lisburn.

The men were on a motorbike which collided with a crash barrier on Pond Park Road East at about 16:25 BST on Saturday.

Police have appealed for anyone with information regarding either traffic collision to contact them.
