Islanders to pay for Covid and flu jabs from April
PA MediaIslanders will have to pay for Covid-19 and flu vaccinations from April, the States of Guernsey has said.
It said the fee for the administration of the vaccines was in line with all other adult inoculations.
The cost of the vaccines themselves would continue to be covered by the States but patients will need to contact their GP practice to confirm administration prices, it added.
Officials decided public money would be used to fully fund both vaccines during the Covid pandemic.
The States said: "This model has remained ever since, but now we have transitioned out of the pandemic response Health and Social Care is reverting to using the original model where service users pay for the administration of the vaccine."
The administration of the vaccines to people aged 18 and under remained free, it said.
