The family of a man who died following a crash have described him as a "devoted husband, a loving father and a generous person".

Emergency services were called to the A417 near Birdlip in Gloucestershire at about 09:40 GMT on 1 February after the crash involving a car transporter and a Honda Civic.

Sustaining serious injuries in the collision, Rudis Rafael Lara de Los Santos, 46, from Gloucester, who was driving the Honda Civic, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Paying tribute, de Los Santos' family said: "He worked hard to provide stability and care for his family, and his greatest pride was his children, whom he loved unconditionally."

"His passing leaves an immense void in our hearts, but also a legacy of love and strength that will live on in all who knew him," they said.

"Rest in peace. You will always be in our hearts," they added.

Gloucestershire Constabulary said enquiries into the crash are continuing, with anyone who witnessed the collision or who has not already spoken to police urged to come forward.

Anyone with dashcam footage is also encouraged to contact the force.
