Three fires across Godalming, Surrey in the space of five days are being treated as deliberate, police say.

A number of fires in a Surrey town are believed to have been started deliberately, police have said.

A car fire broke out at a property in Goldalming, on 8 March, alongside a bin fire and a blaze at a recreation ground, Surrey Police said.

A report of a fire which had started in a post box in Grosvenor Road was also received on 3 March.

A force spokesperson said it was currently unable to confirm whether the incidents were linked, but it was appealing for information.

The car fire in Wiggins Yard, Godalming, was first reported in the early hours of the morning on 8 March.

The flames spread to the wall of a neighbouring property and a garden shed. A bin was also found alight nearby.

A further blaze was reported later at the Holloway Hill recreation ground on the same morning, while the force said it was also looking into the post box blaze in nearby Grovesnor Road on 3 March.

Anyone with information is urged to get in touch with Surrey Police.
