Fatality in Downpatrick crash is named

The man who died following a two-car crash in Downpatrick has been named as 21-year-old Ryan Cunningham.

Mr Cunningham was the driver of a silver VW Bora which was involved in a collision with a grey Toyota Avensis on the Ballydugan Road at about 14:00 BST on Monday.

His passenger, also in his 20s, is in hospital after being seriously injured.

Two women, who were in the Toyota, also required hospital treatment.

Insp Cherith Adair said: "An investigation to establish the circumstances of what happened is ongoing."

She appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact them.
