Sam Brown, aka "the Ginger Cleaner", makes the videos in between jobs as a window cleaner

A window cleaner has racked up thousands of views on social media for his videos of washing road signs.

Sam Brown, from Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, calls himself the Ginger Cleaner on his TikTok site - and cleans signs in between his jobs as a window cleaner.

Several of his videos have been viewed more than 500,000 times each, with users also suggesting dirty road signs he should clean.

He said he had been posting videos of his day job, "but I thought I'll do the [road] signs and for some reason that got way more views".

Mr Brown told BBC Radio Northampton's Annabel Amos that he has been inspired by influencers like The Pool Guy, who posts videos of swimming pool cleaning.

He said he thought "people might enjoy watching it - and I enjoy recording it anyway".

The cleaner street sign videos were popular "because people want to see where they live".

Mr Brown said people liked seeing where they live and someone doing a "good thing" online

Mr Brown works for his uncle's window cleaning business and said he was happy to clean the signs, "as long as it was me doing it and it wasn't affecting my actual work".

He works in Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes and said the city had the dirtiest signs he had cleaned so far.

"I try and make sure I find some [signs to clean] because I think people enjoy seeing where they're from," he said.

Although he added he "might have to venture out [of the area] soon anyway as I've most probably cleaned them all".

He said he would carry on cleaning the signs when he can, adding: "I enjoy it".
