Driver, 19, dies in crash with tree

A 19-year-old man has died from injuries he suffered in a single-vehicle crash in Leicestershire.

Police said it was called to Warren Hill in Newtown Linford at about 08:50 GMT on Sunday after a Cupra Formentor left the road and hit a tree.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said the driver suffered serious injuries in the crash and had since died. A female passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash has been asked to contact Leicestershire Police.
