Council seeks anti-social behaviour injunction
GoogleA council is applying for an injunction as a way of tackling anti-social behaviour at a multi-storey car park.
Gloucester City Council said on social media that it was applying for the injunction at Longsmith Street Car Park in the city centre.
The council said the move is not designed to target homeless people but will instead focus on people that use the area as a place to drink alcohol and take drugs.
If approved, the injunction would last for one year and prevent people from returning to the area after being asked to leave by police, and also give full contact details if stopped by officers.
Anyone failing to comply with the injunction would be eligible for arrest.
The council also said that used needles and human excrement have been found at the site.
People who want to comment or object to the injunction being introduced can do so at a council hearing on 5 February.
