Swimmers have been offered the opportunity to tell local politicians what they would like to see in a new swimming pool.

Peterborough City Council is running an online consultation, asking for input on design and features of the new facility, which would replace the demolished Regional Pool on Bishop's Road.

The new complex, which could be open by 2028, is due to include an eight-lane, 25-metre pool and a 20-metre four-lane learner pool with a moveable floor.

Shabina Qayyum, council leader, said: "We know how important it is for residents to see a new, modern swimming pool and leisure centre in the city and we are committed to delivering one as quickly as possible."

The new facility would be the city's only public indoor swimming pool after the Regional Pool was closed in 2024 due to structural issues.

The online survey will close on 29 March.
