Five taken to hospital after 15-vehicle crash on M73
GoogleFive people, including two children, have been taken to hospital after a 15-vehicle crash on the M73 in North Lanarkshire.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent three fire appliances and a heavy rescue unit to the scene near Gartcosh just before midnight.
Two patients were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and two to the adjoining Royal Hospital for Children. A fifth patient was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Three people were also treated at the scene.
The road was closed northbound between Junction 2 Baillieston and Junction 2a Gartcosh and reopened just before 04:00 on Monday.
The Scottish Ambulance Service said six ambulances and two special operations attended.
