Multi-vehicle collision closes M1 northbound

The M1 motorway has been closed northbound following a collision between several vehicles.

Traffic service Inrix said all traffic was being temporarily held between junctions 14 for Milton Keynes and 15 for Northampton "due to an overturned car".

National Highways East reported the closure on X (formerly Twitter) at 07:00 BST on Saturday.

It said "all emergency services" were at the scene and there were two miles of congestion leading up to the crash.

National Highways traffic officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management.

Drivers are being warned of 30 minute delays and advised to use diversion routes.
