The driver of a car which left the road and landed upside down in a stream became the centre of a dramatic rescue as water filled the vehicle.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews responded to a crash involving a car which rolled down an embankment in Pengenffordd, Powys, at 19:45 GMT on 31 January.

The person was trapped in the car as water entered the vehicle, the fire service said, adding that with the stream's water level rising rapidly, rapid extraction was needed.

The person, who left the car with minor injuries, was treated by paramedics and crews left the scene by about 21:51.
