A lengthy snake has been freed after getting trapped under a garden shed.

The 2m-long (6.5ft) corn snake was spotted in Ranelagh Road, Portsmouth at about 12:30 BST on Tuesday.

An animal rescue specialist with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue and an officer from the RSPCA were sent to help free the reptile.

It was removed after the shed was dismantled and taken to a specialist vet by the RSPCA whilst the escaped pet's owner is found.
