A horse has been rescued after it became trapped in a boggy patch of field.

Mid and West Wales Fire Service crews were called to the scene in Libanus near Brecon, Powys, at noon on Sunday.

A 20-year-old horse was stuck in around four feet (1.22m) of mud.

One of the horse’s rear legs had become stuck deep in the bog and the horse had become exhausted trying to free itself, the fire service said.
