Woman who crashed through barrier gets driving ban
Cambridgeshire PoliceA woman who ploughed through barriers at a roundabout has been banned from driving.
Cambridgeshire Police were called to reports of a crash at Bourges Boulevard in Peterborough city centre just before 04:00 BST on 9 April.
The driver, a woman aged 24, was arrested at the scene after she blew more than twice the alcohol limit on a roadside breath test, the force said.
Last week, she was banned from driving and fined £415 after pleading guilty to drink driving.
Cambridgeshire PoliceNobody was injured, and there was no one else in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We all know the dangers of drink driving, but sadly some people still choose to ignore the law, selfishly putting others at risk."
The police urged people to report drink drivers through its confidential hotline.
