Man accused of attempted murders in A47 incident
GoogleA man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after an incident in a police car on a dual carriageway.
Officers were transporting the man to Essex when the car made a sudden stop on the A47 Norwich Southern Bypass, between the Trowse A146 and Ipswich Road A140 junctions, earlier this month, Norfolk Police said.
Charlie Storkey, of Beverley Road, Norwich, is also accused of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, as well as the possession of cannabis.
The 20-year-old appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court on 7 October and was remanded in custody until his next hearing at Norwich Crown Court on 4 November.
The force said it wanted to hear from anyone who witnessed a black unmarked police vehicle making an emergency stop in the first lane of the A47 westbound carriageway at 11:55 BST on 6 October.
It also urged anyone who had dashcam footage of the incident to contact them or Essex Police.
