Police have named a 61-year-old man who died following a serious assault in Mansfield.

Officers were called to the property in Mappleton Drive at 19:19 GMT on Tuesday, Nottinghamshire Police said.

The force said the Anthony Beardsley - also known to friends and family as Tony - died a short time later.

Four men - 33, 22, 20 and 20 - who were arrested on suspicion of murder have been released on bail with strict conditions.

Det Insp Clare Gibson said: "Our sympathies remain with Tony's family and our specially trained officers will continue to support them.

"While our investigation is progressing, we are still urging anyone with information - no matter how insignificant it may seem - to get in touch with us without delay."
