Police have launched an investigation after three men were found injured in the Hilton area of Inverness.

The emergency services were called out to Balloan Road at about 08:25 and the men were taken to hospital.

Police said the area had been cordoned off and extensive inquiries were ongoing.

The public has been asked to avoid the area.

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed it had been called out and had sent two ambulances, its special operations team and two rapid response units to the scene.
