A local NHS trust is looking for volunteers to ferry patients and visitors with mobility issues around the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by buggy.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust said the shifts were flexible through the week and full training would be provided.

It added the role was suited to people who enjoy meeting others and supporting the community.

"Our buggy drivers help patients begin their visit with confidence, comfort and a smile," said Julia Clarke, director of public participation, who is hoping to welcome more people into "this very fun and rewarding role".
