Arrest over sex assault on woman asleep on train

The assault occurred on the morning of 23 October, British Transport Police said

A man has been arrested by police investigating a sexual assault against a woman sleeping on a train.

The woman was travelling between Edinburgh and Wolverhampton one morning in October when she woke to find a man abusing her, British Transport Police said.

The offender left the train at Wolverhampton, a spokesperson added.

Police announced on Thursday a man had since been arrested in connection, several months after the incident.
