Students to move into new £45m Tain Campus from April
Getty ImagesArrangements for the opening of a new £45m education campus in Tain have been unveiled as the project enters its final stages.
Tain Community Campus will replace two local primary schools, a special school and Tain Royal Academy, providing education for children aged three through to 18.
In April, primary pupils will move over to the new facility with secondary pupils joining after their exams.
Last year, Highland Council said the project was running six months behind schedule.
Education committee chairman John Finlayson said "significant progress" had been made" and a smooth transition for all pupils was a priority.
Once open, the new community campus will replace Tain Royal Academy, Craighill and Knockbreck primaries and St Duthus School - which supports pupils with severe, complex and profound additional support needs.
From 22 April St Duthus and primary aged pupils will attend with academy students making their transition from 3 June.
Mr Finlayson said: "We remain firmly committed to providing a campus that meets the highest standards, supports our long-term education objectives, and will serve the local community for generations to come."
All pupils will begin the 2026-27 school year at the new campus.
