Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a man who was found unresponsive at his home on Christmas Eve.

Stephen Jedynak, 72, was found at the property in Crofton, near Wakefield, and taken to hospital where he died three days later.

Police believed he had been assaulted at Thorntree Court in the village on 23 December.

Three men aged 23, 27 and 32 have been arrested on suspicion of murder and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, West Yorkshire Police said.

A 36-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Officers asked anyone who had information or who witnessed the incident to contact police.
