Man, 26, found fatally stabbed named by police

A man who died after being stabbed has been named by police as Mohammed Tanveerul Islam.

Thames Valley Police said it received reports of a stabbing in Brooklands Road in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, at about 23:20 BST on Thursday.

The 26-year-old victim died of a stab wound to the chest, a post-mortem examination found.

A 16-year-old boy from Milton Keynes and a man, 36, from Aylesbury, who were arrested on suspicion of murder have been released with no further action, the force said.

A 25-year-old man, from Milton Keynes, who was also arrested as part of the investigation has been released and will face no further action.

Det Supt Jon Capps, from the force's Major Crime Unit, said while he understands the news would be concerning for the community, officers were "working tirelessly to find who is responsible".

He said the investigation was "complex" and officers had spoken to numerous witnesses, conducted house-to-house inquiries and examined CCTV.

The force has appealed for information about a male riding an e-scooter in the Water Eaton Road area and the wider Central Bletchley area in the late evening on Thursday.

"The only description we have, at this time, is that the male was wearing dark clothing," Capps said.

He appealed for anyone who lives in the area to check doorbell footage or CCTV and for anyone who was driving in the area to check their dashcam footage.

An increased police presence will be in the area, the force said.

Milton Keynes commander Ch Supt Emma Baillie said: "We understand this will be concerning for the community but our investigation continues at pace and community safety remains our priority.

"This is a complicated investigation and our detectives continue to work hard to understand the circumstances and, as always, we remain in close contact with the relevant partners."
