Woman arrested on suspicion of Lisa Dorrian's murder
PSNI HandoutAn arrest has been made in the investigation into the disappearance and murder of 25-year-old Lisa Dorrian.
A 40-year-old woman was arrested in Bangor, County Down on Wednesday on suspicion of murder, assisting offenders, withholding information and preventing a lawful and decent burial.
Lisa has not been seen since she attended a house party at a caravan park in the County Down village of Ballyhalbert, at the end of February 2005.
The woman remains in police custody, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) have said.
PSNI Det Ch Insp Kerrie Foreman said: "The arrest comes just days before the 21st anniversary of Lisa's disappearance and murder."
Police believe she was murdered on the night of 27 February 2005 or in the early hours of the following morning.
"We remain determined to provide justice for Lisa's family," Foreman added.
The PSNI appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
