Body found after police search for missing man
BBCPolice are investigating the death of a man believed to be part of a missing person investigation.
Avon and Somerset Police said a 40-year-old man was found dead in a property at Wade Street, in the St Judes area of Bristol, on 3 January after a review of CCTV footage.
Two men, aged 43 and 61, were arrested on suspicion of murder on 3 January and have since been released on police bail.
Neighbourhood Inspector John Shaddick said: "The man was reported missing to the police on 29 December having not returned to his flat since 27 December. Our thoughts are with the man's family at this very difficult time."
Police added a mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IPOC).
A post-mortem examination was completed on 4 January, but the findings were inconclusive with further tests now being carried out to establish the cause of death.
