Wonder Woman's whip among movie props at auction
WARNER BROSProps from blockbuster films including Harry Potter, Star Wars, Wonder Woman and Jurassic Park are expected to fetch up to £200,000 at auction.
The collection of movie memorabilia is going under the hammer at Ewbank's in Woking, with several sales already made.
An original red Philosopher's Stone prop used in the 2001 Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone film has sold for £11,000, while a Golden Snitch from the same production has fetched £6,000.
A 39-inch Atlantean sword wielded by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1984 fantasy action sequel Conan the Destroyer has sold for £9,000.
Fan memorabilia
A stunt lightsaber made for Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace has sold for £2,400.
A Captain America WWII helmet used by Chris Evans in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) fetched £6,400, and a WWII shield prop from the film sold for £5,500.
Other sales include an Elder Wand made for the 2010 Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 movie, which sold for £4,200.
The wand features in the Harry Potter books and films as possibly the most central wand in existence and is loyal to whoever won it in battle from its previous owner.
A mosquito-in-amber prop, made to sit on top of the cane that actor Richard Attenborough's character John Hammond uses in the 1993 Jurassic Park movie went under the hammer.
It fetched £420, despite never making it on screen because it 'failed' during the production process and the inside became warped, bubbled and cracked.
A two-way mirror shard prop, used by Harry Potter to communicate with Dumbledore in the 2011 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 movie has fetched £2,000.
Other films whose props feature in the auction, which is expected to finish late on Friday, include Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), Charlie and The Chocolate Factory (2005), The Mummy (1999), Holmes & Watson (2018), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Alien (1979), The Fifth Element (1997), Gladiator (2000) and Batman Begins (2005).
