BBC Guernsey team starts swim for Children in Need

A group from BBC Guernsey is attempting to swim 24 miles (39km) in 24 hours for BBC Children in Need (CiN).

The five-person team started the challenge at 08:00 BST in Beau Sejour and members have until 08:00 on 6 November to complete the swim.

Reporter Olivia Fraser said: "It's going to be a lot to fit in 24 hours - I'm nervous and excited."

The charity is currently funding projects in Guernsey valued at £224,797 as part of of almost 1,500 projects across the British Isles, CiN bosses said.

The team, including show presenter Tim Hunter, need to swim a mile an hour for 24 hours to complete the challenge.
