A blaze ripped through a car and spread to a nearby home, near Paignton.

Multiple 999 calls alerted firefighters to the incident on Barton Drive, in Devon, at about 02:00 BST.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said due to the alarm being raised early, the building "only suffered light smoke logging" in the loft space and the first floor.

Crews removed guttering, facias and soffits, which had been damaged in the fire.
