Weather to be 'glorious' for first time in 2026
BBCJersey is to get consecutive days of dry and "glorious" weather for the first time in 2026, forecasters have said.
Jersey Met said there would be sunshine on Tuesday and Wednesday with maximum temperatures of 15C (59F), the warmest of the year so far.
"Just before sunrise this morning I could clearly see a sun pillar, which is a shaft of light that you occasionally see just above the sun before sunrise and that sets the tone for the day," said John Searson, principle meteorological officer at Jersey Met.
"It has become the warmest day of the year so far, with tomorrow set to be a lovely day with a good deal of sunshine," he told BBC Radio Jersey
Searson did, however, reveal that the rainy weather was expected to return.
"There is an active cold front which is going to bring rain on Thursday night into Friday.
"But have a lovely day, whatever you do," he said.
It is quite a contrast to the rest of February which has seen episodes of flash-flooding, a landslip and travel disruption to and from the island during school half-term.
