Homes have been flooded and dozens left without water after a mains pipe burst.

About 49 homes are without water after the pipe burst on Manningtree Road in Stutton, near Ipswich, at about 01:30 GMT.

Suffolk Police said at least four properties had been flooded.

The main road through the village has been closed in both directions and Anglian Water said the issue should be fixed by 10:30.

Customers in Manningtree Road and the surrounding area have been warned to expect low or no water pressure.

Drivers leaving or heading to Brantham, Holbrook and the rest of the Shotley peninsula were being advised to divert around Stutton via Tattingstone and Ipswich.
